Frequently Asked Questions
Q. How often should I have my car washed?
A. Every 1-2 weeks. If your car is exposed to corrosive materials like salt, sand and industrial fallout,
it should be washed often. Frequently washing your car is essential to the life of your car's chrome
and painted surfaces. Of course, these estimates may vary depending upon whether your car is kept in
a garage or outside. Your neighbors or your sprinklers may be the single worst enemy for your car’s
paint if your car is parked in the driveway or outside.
Q. How often should I have my car Waxed?
A. Most auto instruction manuals (listed under the vehicle care section) recommend you wax your
car once a month for maximum protection. However, this all depends on what type of wax is used, where
your car is kept, and the weather
.
Q. Do you accept credit cards?
A. Yes, we accept credit cards.
Q. Do wash or detail boats, RVs ,or motorcycles?
A. Yes, we do!. Depending on what you want done, we can wash, shampoo, wax,
or completely detail your Boat, RV or motorcycle.
Q. How long do your services take?
A. Normally it takes 15-30 minutes for a car wash. One of the main factors is the size of the
vehicle. If it’s a huge dully with a 8 inch lift then expect a little longer wait than the BMW . Waxes
generally take 30 – 45 minutes, depending on how busy we are. Carpet Heat Extraction takes about
45 min-1 hour or more depending on the condition of your vehicle. Please plan on leaving your
car here for any full detail job. We will give you an accurate estimate once we see your car.
Q. Do you wash convertibles?
A. Yes, we do. We even have a service that will clean and recondition you’re
convertible top.
Q. I have a stain on my upholstery, can you get it out?
A. Most stains can be removed with our Carpet Heat Extraction process.
Q. When should I wash off insect residue?
A. As soon as possible, especially if the vehicle is new. Insect residue and
bird droppings form acids that immediately start to eat away a vehicle's finish.
Q. What is a clay bar?
A. Clay bars are used to remove embedded contaminants from painted surfaces. With today's
soft paints, any contaminants that sit on your paint can quickly become embedded. These contaminants
aren't easily removed, even by washing or waxing. Clay bars can even remove over spray and water
spots.
Q. Can you wax your car too often?
A. Today's paints ARE softer and thinner than previous years'. In other words, you can NEVER
wax too often - just as long as the plastic or rubber part of the car does not get any wax on them.
Q. What about those really cheap car washes at the gas stations?
A. Generally speaking, you get what you pay for. Many of those car washes use mechanical
brushes, which can damage your paint surface. In some parts of the country, the water is recycled,
meaning your car is getting the same water applied to the "clapped out" 1970 Plymouth
Duster that just pulled out (unless your car just happens to be that Duster). While filters can
catch small particulates, they can't filter out the dissolved salt from winter use, or all those
hoards of other nasty chemicals.
Q. What about water spots?
A. Water spots derive from several sources: car washes, your neighbor's sprinkler system,
acid rain, etc. The good news is that all water spots are restorable if they were contaminated recently.
However, if left on your car for some time, it can damage the clear coat and cut through the paint.
A waxed and sealed car has a better chance of repelling water spots.
